Overview
Benefits of brow waxing
With barely-there makeup becoming a hit, perfectly groomed brows are stealing the spotlight like never before. Luckily, eyebrow waxing is here to save the day! It's one of the easiest and most transformative ways to shape your brows. Whether you're into a more thick, feathered brows or you're jumping on the trend with razor-thin tadpoles, eyebrow waxing can help you rock your desired look effortlessly. But the intention is always to have lift and a more open eye.
Sometimes it means taking brows thinner or thicker, or adjusting the angles of the arch to go higher or lower. Also unlike eyebrow threading and plucking, waxing is often seen as the most precise method for hair removal, especially for tackling peach fuzz around the brows. With threading and tweezing, you're only removing the hairs you can see. But waxing gets rid of vellus hair [peach fuzz] and creates a softer-looking brow shape. The procedure is also dermatologist approved.

The Brow Waxing Procedure
Eyebrow waxing treatment is fast, usually lasting around 15 minutes. After having had a thorough consultation regarding your desired look and any allergies or sensitivities you may suffer from, our brow techs will guide you have a lie down on our cosy comfy beds. They then start by cleansing your brows with a gentle brow shampoo to remove any bacteria, dead skin, oil or makeup residue that could lead to an infection. This makes it easier for the hair to be pulled out and helps to avoid post-wax pimples. They may also apply a small amount of brow powder to act as a barrier between your skin and the wax if you have a sensitive skin and may suffer from skin lifts. They then start your treatment by applying a thin layer of warm wax to the hairs you wish to remove. A paper stir is then places over the top, allowing the wax to set, and gentle pressure is applied to trap the individual hairs. Finally, the strip is swiftly removed, pulling out the hairs from the root. They then follow by using tweezers to strategically remove any hairs closer to your brow line.
At the end of your treatment they apply a soothing gel, which will soothe the skin and reduce redness followed by a natural healing balm to heal any redness or sensitivity you may have experienced as a result of your eyebrow waxing treatment here in Leeds. Our brow techs will work to ensure that your brows are symmetrical, defined and enhanced to your desired shape.
Eyebrow waxing results
Waxing provides a long-lasting result and a soft smooth skin as it removes the peach fuzz as well as the strays, giving you back more time in your day, week, life. It can also be more comfortable than other forms of hair removal. It also gives you a cleaner, fresher look which can take years off of your face as well as make your eye area seem more open and awake. Results can last two to six weeks, although you’ll want to rebook every four weeks for a more groomed shape or if your brows grow quickly.
Brow waxing maintenance
While it might seem tempting to give it a go yourself, our team in West Yorkshire strongly advise against the DIY approach. Trust us when we say, leave it to us, the pros! It's crucial to visit a trained brow tech to steer clear of any mishaps like patchy spots from misplaced wax, sparse ends, and even the dreaded burns. Your brows deserve the best care, so let's leave the waxing to us! The skin surrounding your brows is super delicate and prone to irritation, inflammation, and scarring. That's why it's crucial to have a good grasp of anatomy before you start shaping those brows. Without it, you could end up with some unwanted damage. There are also aesthetics to consider. Like the hairs on your head, brows come in all shapes, sizes, textures, and colours – something your brow artist knows only too well. We'll tailor the shape to frame your eyes and add definition to your face, while ensuring your eyebrows don't stray too far from what they look like naturally.

Eyebrow waxing and retinols
Retinol-based skincare has become incredibly popular and is now considered a must-have essential in skincare routines. In fact, Retinol has emerged as one of the most sought-after ingredients in the skincare market today. In case this is the first time you have heard the name, Retinol belongs to a group of Vitamin A-derived drugs known as Retinoids. You can get it either through a prescription or over the counter, it comes in various strengths and serves many purposes and is used for various reasons, for example, to cure acne, fade age spots, pigmentation, and to speed up the turnover of superficial skin cells. This process accelerates exfoliation, meaning it helps remove dead skin cells from the surface, allowing fresh, new skin to shine through.
But all the while you’re using Retinol based creams and serums on your skin, your skin becomes thinner on the area it is applied (due to the exfoliation process) and in turn makes it more sensitive. And once you wax, the following could happen:
FAQ
What is brow waxing?
Your brows frame your face and accentuate your features. Brow waxing is a quick, gentle and long lasting method of defining the shape of your brows, this treatment only takes a few minutes therefore we allow walk-ins, however, it is always best to book an appointment to avoid any disappointment. Regrowth takes several weeks and unwanted brow hair becomes thinner, weaker and lighter with multiple treatments.
Is brow waxing safe?
Waxing is an age-old, proven and safe way to remove hair from the brows. The hair will then grow back considerably thinner over time. It is also dermatologist approved.
Eyebrow waxing before and aftercare
The first 24 hours is the most crucial when it comes to your aftercare. We strongly suggest you avoid touching your freshly waxed brows. The oil from your fingertips could cause spots while your skin is in a sensitive state. We also suggest you avoid applying makeup, exfoliators or other harsh cosmetic products around your brow area within 24 hours before and after your waxing appointment to minimise irritation. We prefer it if you stayed away from tweezers completely, but if you must, we suggest that you only tweeze the stray hairs on the very edge of your brows and steer clear of the arch to avoid over-plucking or accidentally altering the shape. We suggest that you gently brush your brows up and out daily using a spoolie.
